Hardware Luddite

Some people seem to always be on top of the latest trends of consumer electronics. In my case, I really enjoy playing with software, programming and playing with web servers; but I am some sort of hardware Luddite. Imagine, I got a VCR only in 1999, sort of twenty years after they were first marketed.
Despite of this, I do have use for a few items of this technological world.
- Marcela bought a Sony digital camera in 2002. It was nice, but we were always missing features of our SLRs. Finally, last March we got a Nikon D70, and we are very happy with it. At last something that feels like a real camera and that allow us to use all the SLR lenses.
- Ten days ago I got a Samsung Yepp YP-T6 1GB MP3 player, for listening music and books at the gym. At AUD168 it was a great buy. Together with a Tunebelt armband it is great. I also dusted off my Polar heart rate monitor and have gone back to exercising and enjoying working out.
- Two days ago I bought and installed a Samsung Set-top box for digital TV. I was not interested in digital per se, but reception of analog TV in our place was shocking and I was hoping to get a good improvement moving to digital. I was right, picture quality is excellent even without an external aerial.
Reading again this list, it appears that I have a very electronic life. No, that is all, well Palm Tungsten T3 aside.
PS. As you probably realise, I am not really a Luddite, but only a late adopter of technology.
